Rooted in the momentum of these initiatives, this New Orleans Bike Share
Feasibility Study and Business Plan examines the feasibility of a bike share system in New Orleans and makes recommendations based on lessons learned in peer cities. The New Orleans Regional Planning Commission (RPC) and the City of New Orleans jointly funded this Bike Share Feasibility Study and Business Plan as a result of a high-level bike share study produced by Bike Easy and a 2013 EPA Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities technical assistance workshop. The RPC and
the City recognize the ability of bike share to serve as a reliable transit service, a tool for resident and visitor circulation, and a way to better connect people to RTA's streetcar and bus network.
