This webinar built on the first part of the two-part series, and focused on types of bicycle and pedestrian counting equipment, what works where, how well, and how to make sure it's working. After Krista Nordback (UNC Highway Safety Research Center) gave a quick review of Part 1 of the webinar, Frank Proulx (Alta Planning + Design) discussed automated counter technologies and shared the latest findings on counter accuracy from NCHRP 797 Round 2. Sarah O'Brien (NCSU Institute for Transportation Research and Education) explained methods used to validate and maintain counter accuracy for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
